摘要:
 为建立并逐步完善湖北省博物馆中英文网站,服务于荆楚文化的海内外传播,基于对馆藏文物的实地考察,对比该馆英文网站文物名称的翻译,发现存在文物翻译率不高、简单音译、误译等问题。通过对照故宫博物院等国内顶级博物馆同类文物翻译的平行文本,从人文层面提出博物馆应该重视翻译工作、翻译人员需要提升综合业务素养的建议;并从技术层面提出采用增译、参考平行文本等策略优化博物馆文物翻译现状。
Abstract:
 The museum is the main body for the collection of cultural relics which plays an important role in the publicity of cultural relics and heritage. Hubei Provincial Museum(HPM) has been promoting its functions in exhibiting and reviving Jingchu culture and its website plays an active role. Based on the author’s field investigation in HPM, this thesis firstly analyzed the translation of HPM’s cultural relics provided by its English website and identified certain translation problems, such as low translation rate, improper transliteration and mistranslation of cultural relics, then the comparative analysis of the parallel texts of the same types of cultural relics translation by the Palace Museum and other top museums in China enabled the author of this paper to offer suggestions to solve the mentioned problems. It shows that HPM should attach importance to the cultural relics translation and create opportunities for translators to improve their comprehensive professional literacy.
